ping.sg is a meta blog for Singapore bloggers. It aims to create a comprehensive and thorough database for blog entries written by local bloggers and/or with local interest. ping.sg also aims to create online community for Singapore bloggers to interact and gives every single blogger the same chance to stand out above the rest.
Now you may be asking this question.
What is ping? What is pong?
ping comes from the word ping blog or pingback. Here is a simple scenario to illustrate the concept of ping and pong:
You blogged an entry. You ping ping.sg. Your entry gets featured on ping.sg. We, readers, pong (read) your entry. Simple as that.
The next question that you might be thinking is this.
Why is Abang Long thinking? Why is he posting about this?
Well, after Abang Long had typed an article about an ex Singapore MediaCorp actress, traffic to my blog have coming thick and fast. I was quite overwhelmed by the response.
That article was the most popular article so far in Anak Boyan Singapura blog. It was updated three times!
While you are reading this right now, people are still searching for 'Nadia Fazlini' and landed on that article.
You can take a look at this site. It shows Abang Long's live traffic for this site. You can scroll all the way down and see what people have been searching for.
This episode set me thinking. It's being searched by many, make it to the top of search engines, but it didn't make it to the top 10 of ping.sg
As you've read at the top, ping.sg is a meta blog for Singapore bloggers. So it makes me wonder what kind of posts are in the Top 10 of ping.sg
If you scroll to 24hours, This week, This month and This year. There is a similarity in the kind of posts that are in the Top 10. Singaporeans love to read posts that have articles that show some skin.
This kind of articles make it to the Top 10.
The thing is, Abang Long won't be going that direction and I'll find ways how to make it to the top.
